Having opened my massage practice in 1993, I've witnessed the remarkable transformation of the massage industry. Once seen only as a luxury spa service, massage has gained significant recognition as an integral part of people's regular health strategies. This evolution, while helpful to the credibility of massage practitioners, has also brought about some unintended consequences. As the industry has become more medicalized, massage has become more formulaic and less intuitive, losing some of its creative and expressive qualities.
With our program, you'll learn how to create a masterpiece of touch, pause, and sound, allowing you to bring a new level of artistry to each massage session. We'll teach you how to develop your intuitive abilities and customize each session to meet your clients' unique needs and preferences. The Body Journey Certification is rooted in Chinese Medicine, teaching you how to activate chi and get it flowing from head to toe to fingertip by working with specific acupressure points and the meridian system. As the chi flows and the mind relaxes, clients journey to a deeply centered, still place where the body's wisdom comes alive. You'll learn time-tested dynamic and effective signature moves and how to seamlessly combine them with sound healing and acupressure energy work for a multidimensional, near-psychedelic experience that goes beyond the body - a sacred journey without medicine.
This training is for bodyworkers who are already excellent at what they do
The Body Journey is not a quick addition of bells and whistles which will magically inspire a joruney when played. The foundation, of course, is still expert bodywork. Think of this modality as similar to a gentle hypnosis, crafted to guide your clients deeper into the massage. My training provides a catalyst to address the parts of your clients which may have trouble letting go and receiving the intricate, deep work you already know how to practice. Combined with a few new-to-you signature techniques, this program is designed to take your skills to the next level.

The idea for the Body Journey Massage Experience was born during a session in 1994. In my Mill Valley office at dusk, listening to cosmic music, I felt drawn to occasionally pause on specific acupressure points. I felt my client’s chi pulsing as she drifted in and out of consciousness. Coming back into her body, the client exclaimed, “Wow! That felt like the LSD psychedelic journeys that I do with my therapist." I responded without much thought, "well, it is a journey with your body. A Body Journey." We chuckled – the idea was born. Thirty years later, the inspiration has fully matured into an outstanding massage treatment that provides clients with a unique and transformative experience.
